Urban MObility via VElocipede
in the context of Climate Change
UMOVE-CC is studying how to better adapt bike routes to hot weather. Its goal is to understand what makes a bike ride more or less comfortable during the summer by combining climate data, infrastructure characteristics, and cyclists’ experiences.
Through field experiments and citizen participation, the project will identify the most suitable routes and develop indicators and maps that local authorities can use to design bicycle networks that are more comfortable and resilient to climate change.
The method will be tested in several regions in France and Switzerland, and the data and tools produced will be freely available.
